Villarreal Academy

The Villarreal Academy ('Ciudad Deportiva') is one of the most notable football complexes in Europe. With 70,000 sq. metres and nine football pitches it is the main training arena not only for the first team, but also the reserves and youth teams. It also has a residential facility for the young boys of the youth academy, who come from all parts of the world in order to develop as soccer players and young men. The facility is located in cami Miralcamp, close to the town of Villarreal, and the club encourages its supporters to observe and enjoy the day-to-day training whilst also using the facilities to promote and engage community involvement.

  How to arrive

The training pitches

Villarreal C.F. Ciudad Deportiva has three natural grass pitches, all of which have floodlights. One of them is used for the training by the first team. The other two are used by the reserves to train and play their matches. One pitch can accommodate almost 3,000 supporters. There is also a new generation artificial grass field, of 90 x 60 metres, which has the possibility of becoming two soccer-7 fields. The other eight football pitches are supported by substantial changing room facilities which can accommodate several football teams and officials. Villarreal Academy also has a five-a-side football pitch and a smaller pitch for younger children.

The social building

Apart from being the training base for all of our players Villarreal C.F. Ciudad Deportiva is also the base for our administration teams.
On the ground floor are the club offices, two dressing rooms for the first team, a press room, a medical area, a gym, a hydro massage cabin and two offices for the technical staff.
On the first floor there is a coffee shop with outdoor terrace to the football pitches, a kitchen and the temporary residence (which extends to the 3rd floor), with capacity for almost 90 young boys that have been scouted by Villarreal C.F. to become future professional footballers.
The residence hosts youngsters between 14 and 18 from all parts of Spain and the world. These teenagers have a special educator and continue their studies at the Miralcamp secondary education institute, near Villarreal C.F. Ciudad Deportiva.
The club is committed to ensure that the 90 young men whom reside at the Ciudad Deportivae dedicate their time to soccer and studies.
